Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Workshops

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a class designed to teach you mindfulness tools to reduce your experience of stress along with its negative health impacts.  You’ll learn skills for regulating and lowering stress reactivity in the body, as well as how to relax your body, quiet your mind and open your heart.  All it takes is a consistent commitment.  Neurological research demonstrates that practicing MBSR actually changes the structure of the brain!  With a 30+ year history of effectiveness, I’m pleased to be trained to teach MBSR and offer it to the greater Traverse City community.

 

This workshop is a combination of ancient wisdom and modern medicine, creating one of the most effective programs for harmonious, healthy living available today. Learn how to reduce your stress, change your relationship to physical or emotional pain, and cope with the demands of everyday life. Deepen your relationship with yourself, others, and the places you work, live and play. You will receive personal, supportive, guided instruction in mindfulness practices – leading to less stress and greater health and happiness in your life.

Class dates - Nine Sundays  from 2-4:15pm, and one Saturday retreat event from 10am-3pm, dates as follows:
Orientation Session:  January 29th (you must RSVP to me via email to reserve a space in this session.  There is absolutely NO obligation to do anything more.   This is a free orientation and overview of the MBSR program.)

 

Class One:  February 5th

 

Class Two:  February 12th

 

Class Three:  February 19th

 

Class Four:  February 26th

 

Class Five:  March 4th

 

Class Six:  March 11th

 

Class Seven: March 18th

 

Class Eight:  March 25th

 

Saturday Retreat:  March 17th from 10am-3pm

 

All meetings will take place at my office in the Centerpointe Building, Traverse City.

 

Tuition, Single Payment Discount, and Payment Plan options:

 

$495 for the 8 Workshop sessions, Day Retreat program, CDs for home practice, and practice guide.

 

Payments will be made and/or payment plans established at the end of our orientation session, as follows:

 

10% discount if tuition is paid in 1 payment via check or credit card (total tuition with discount: $445)

 

Payment plans via credit card are also available (3 monthly payments of $165)

 

There is a sliding fee scale available based on household income and extended payment plans can be arranged.  Please ask!  No one will be turned away based on financial circumstances – we will create an affordable tuition and payment plan for you.
